<body bgcolor="#FFFFFF"> <p><strong>The “POLAR CREWING LTD”,</strong> was established in August 1997 as a Crewing Agency, but we are known since 1993 as the Murmansk Office of NB Shipping Group.</p> <p>Our Agency with the activities of selection, training and employment of the qualified Russian officers and ratings for bulk, general cargo, container and passenger vessels is constantly improving the quality standards according to the updated requirements of STCW Convention.</p> <p><strong>“POLAR CREWING LTD” is the first crewing agency</strong> in Russia which had been <a href="profile/iso9002.html">certified by Bureau Veritas Quality International</a> (BVQI) in accordance with ISO 9002.</p> <p>According to our procedure of selection we generally recruit the seafarers who have a minimum two years of on-board experience and basic knowledge of English which should be confirmed by ISF test. Than we classify our candidates according to their English: <ul> <li>1st class – more than 80%</li> <li>2nd class – 65-80%</li> <li>3rd class – 40-65%</li> </ul> <p>Candidates with ISF Test results less than 40% are not allowed to be registered.</p> <p><strong>In order to wide the range of services in the field of hiring of qualified seafarers</strong> POLAR CREWING LTD founds her Division in Arkhangelsk, Russia. There are the Arkhangelsk State Marine College, Arkhangelsk State Fishing College, Makarov Academy’s Branch, NSC’s Marine Training Centre, two SOLAS training vessels which are used for seafarers training in Arkhangelsk.<br> Northern Shipping Company, Northern River Shipping Company, Arkhangelsk Trawler Fleet and several smaller shipping companies have their Offices and fleet registered at Arkhangelsk. Totally they recruited about 7.000 qualified seafarers. Unfortunately, due to serious shortage of fleet under the Russian flag many qualified seafarers were released recently. They need to be employed. We are working on the unemployment problem, which could be solved by means of efficient re-educational system.</p> <p>Due to the general for Russian seamen lack of communicative English and insufficient knowledge of English Safety vocabulary we have initiated English educational program for seamen. We have a year experience of co-operation with Logos English training centre, Murmansk (recently joined the Benedict School program) in English training using two-months intensive courses for seamen.
